First released in 1978, this is another classic Tamiya kit. The kit comes with four sprues for the actual vehicle and driver and an additional one with various weapons, crates, etc. for loading the truck. These are handy as spare parts for dioramas. For the photos, I added an extra figure.
The kit is fairly simple to make. I didn’t have any problems with parts fitting. Make sure to keep the three main sections (front, cab, and rear) separate until the end to make it easier to paint some of the inside details.
I’m not a great figure painter but made my best attempt this time.
For this kit, I brought an aftermarket 3d printed dashboard from a company called Quinta Studio – link here. They are very impressive and if you want to add a little something to your kits well worth it.
Painting and light weathering were also fun. I hand-painted everything.
The kit can be found online for just over $20. Another good one for someone looking to get back into the hobby or start off for the first time.
