Today I finally finished this Kubelwagen Radio Car from Cyber-hobby. This kit first came out in 2007.
It wasn’t the easiest build. I had problems with some of the photoetched parts, as I am still learning how to fold them and especially glue them without making a huge mess. Also in a couple of places, the instructions were not clear on how to attach parts, The model driver would not fit into the driving seat as his legs were too long. I couldn’t see a way to modify him enough to get him to fit. I would have had to remove the foot pedals on the model to get him in and even then it would have been a tight fit.
I made a modification by adding the power cable for the radio that you see above, This is not a kit for those of you who are all fingers and thumbs. I feel like my painting skills are very slowly improving but still a long way to go before I get to award award-winning level!
I was looking forward to making this model and I am pleased with the final results although it wasn’t quite as much fun to make as I had imagined.
If you want a small challenge then this is a good kit to go for. I wouldn’t recommend this one for the novice modeler.
